CENTIN organizes seminar on microfinance opportunities for young entrepreneurs

The Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CENTIN) organized a seminar on microfinance opportunities for young entrepreneurs. Mudassar Aqil, CEO KASHF Microfinance Bank, was invited as the guest speaker on this occasion. Aqil has a proven and demonstrated ability in the areas of organizational development, strategy, business analytics and customer experience management, encompassed with a rich background in strategic planning, marketing and operations in the US and Pakistan. He was warmly welcomed at UMT by Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT, Dr A R Kausar,  Pro-Rector, the CENTIN team and HSM faculty members.

The event started with recitation from some verses of the Holy Quran.  Addressing on the occasion, Mudassar said that the real impact of microfinance lies in its ability to create inclusive financial systems and inclusive societies – societies where the individual is not shut out of what the society has to offer. He also conveyed the KMBL’s vision to be Pakistan’s leading microfinance bank serving all to build a prosperous, equitable and poverty-free Pakistan, so that young entrepreneurs may step ahead to avail the opportunity without any hesitation.
During an interactive session, he built an understanding of microfinancing concept and its functionalities in the given dynamic conditions. Moreover, he emphasized on economic objectives that Kashf Microfinance Bank aims to create while sustaining jobs through micro-lending.

At the end, Dr Hasan Sohaib Murad shared his views with the students. He encouraged them to take the lead in coming up with thought provoking innovative ideas and always be ready to explore new avenues of creativity. He appreciated CENTIN’s efforts in facilitating UMT’s students in this regard. As a note of thanks, Dr Hasan presented a souvenir to Mudassar Aqil.

Rashid Hussain, Director CENTIN, expressed his gratitude to all the faculty members who attended the seminar. On a special note, he thanked Firzoq Ahmad Chaudhary, Director Corporate Liaison, who provided real support for creating a liaison between UMT and the industry.
