The CSCR Supply Chain Forum invited Ahmad Sharjeel, Supply Chain Manager, Coca-Cola Company, as the guest speaker for a seminar on “Inco-terms and Import Process”. Ahmad Sharjeel is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), trainer, teacher and writer of business documents and books.
The seminar started after recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran by a student, Ahmad Afzal. The event was attended by more than 50 supply chain professionals from different organizations, faculty members of HSM and supply chain students. It highlighted the pros of trades involving inco-terms as they are intended to reduce or remove altogether uncertainties arising from different interpretation of the rules in different countries. The speaker shared his experience and all the participants took an active part in the presentation. He talked about the role of inco-terms in supply chain as they also determine the location where the responsibility for transportation and customer related costs shifts from the seller to the buyer.
At the end, there was a lively question and answer session. The participants discussed some challenges that they usually come across in the trading process.
The event was sponsored by Shami Textiles, manufacturers and suppliers of readymade garments to some of the biggest international brands including ZARA, Victoria Secret and NEXT. Their objective is to provide top quality products to their clients and expand their clientele worldwide. At the end of the seminar, Sami Ullah thanked the speaker, sponsor and participants of the seminar. Ijaz Yusuf, Director CSCR, presented shields to the speaker to Ahmad Sharjeel and Ahmad Mansha Shami.
The seminar ended up with light refreshment. All the participants enjoyed themselves and interacted with each other.
