Invisible geographies: Interactive documentary and postcolonial histographies

School of Media Communication and Studies organized an International Lecture on the topic “Invisible Geographies: Interactive Documentary and Postcolonial Histographies” in UMT. Dean and Prof. Mugheesuddin Sheikh (SMCS) welcomed the guest speaker. In his opening remarks, he mentioned about his first interacted with the students of media and communication and shared few glimpses of future plans for (SMCS). He will reveal the plan of action for SMCS in detail later on in Student-Dean interaction next month. The guest speaker Mr. Dale Hudson from New York University, Abu Dhabi told the students about the importance and capacity for interactive documentary, loosely defined as nonfiction media that run on web or mobile platforms, to activate “invisible geographies.” In the end, Q & A session was opened for the students. Very intelligent questions and concerns about “invisible geographies” in documentaries were asked which the guest liked and appreciated their knowledge and concern about film and documentary. The lecture was conducted by Mr. Rashid Khan (Assistant Professor, SMCS, UMT).
