In their presentations, the speakers identified the problems underlying the present energy crisis and the complex issues and constraints involved in various solutions. There was a consensus that without shifting to cheaper fuels like coal and renewable environmentally friendly sources like Hydel, Wind and Solar, the future is going to become more difficult. It was also felt that indigenous expertise should be relied upon to face energy challenge.
Dr Tabassum’s presentation focused on Environment and indentified issues and way forward. Akram Khalid also covered issues of Environment.
