Recently, the Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR) organized a lecture in the operations management class of Mr Ijaz Yusuf at UMT. Mr Shoaib Rabbani, Sr. Manager Training and Quality Assurance of Excel Freight Systems Pvt Ltd was the guest speaker on the occasion. He has more than 18 years of experience and has great expertise in the fields of logistics, management and quality management.

Mr Ijaz Yusuf, Director CSCR, welcomed Mr Shoaib Rabbani at UMT; while talking to the students Mr Shoaib Rabbani highlighted the key areas of operations management of cold chain activities. He gave a brief introduction of cold chain and operations involved in cold chain management and also discussed other management techniques adopted specially for cold chain and other necessary considerations with respect to model choice and custom procedure. His professional experience and examples made the lecture more commendable.
He also analyzed the situation of Pakistan with respect to cold chain facilities mode and equipments with reference to Pakistan’s trade patterns and export data. He stated that there is no infrastructure and lengthy processes of customs and inappropriate facilities of maritime air, road and rail are the main problems in the development of cold chain activities.
The session was closed with positive feedback and interactive participation of the students. In the end, Mr Ijaz Yusuf presented the guest speaker Mr Shoaib Rabbani with UMT Souvenir.
