January 1, 2014

The Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization at the University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, held a seminar titled, ‘Contemporary World and Responsibility of Youth in the Light of Seerat-un-Nabi (S.A.W)’ at the University Campus. Prof Molana Yusuf Khan was the Chief Guest of the seminar.

While talking to the audience, Prof Khan stated that the life of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) can be seen as the perfect role model for the youth of today. The Guest Speaker is an eminent scholar of Hadith and has hosted many religious programs for radio and television channels which include Ptv. Geo, Dunya and Express.

The aim of the seminar was to make youth and the general public aware of the foundational element of holding on to the Sunnah (practices) of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the way to improve our lives, society and world at large and to make students realize about their individual responsibilities.

Dr Mumtaz Ahmad Salik, Head, Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization, presented a souvenir to the guest speaker and thanked him for gracing the occasion with his presence. The event was attended by students, teachers and faculty members of the various departments of the University.
