Dr A R Kausar, Pro-Rector UMT, visited Qatar and Saudi Arabia from March 05-14, 2011 to project the University as one of the leading institutions of higher education in Pakistan and to encourage the expatriate Pakistani community as well as foreign students to pursue education at UMT. He was accompanied by Muhammad Taufeeq, Head, Office of Information and Admissions (OIA) at UMT.
Dr Kausar conducted a series of presentations for high school overseas Pakistani students. He drove home the point that UMT matches international standards of education while offering a fee structure and scholarships that make it possible for the best and the brightest from all segments of society to pursue higher education at the University. He also met with the faculty and the principals to share with them the latest academic options available to them to rise in their respective areas of studies. Hundreds of interested participants gathered at every venue to listen to Dr Kausar who has built an international stature as an authority on Knowledge Sharing and Personality Development.
As a consequence of the un-paralleled efforts of the Pro-Rector, UMT is now a recognizable name in the Pakistani Community many of whom are considering it as a viable option for the higher education of their children. Dr Kausar has succeeded in establishing a strong network of UMT loyalists who would work to promote the University on an honorary basis.
Qatar
In Doha, Qatar, Dr Kausar made presentations at the Bright Future Academy and Pakistan Education Centre. The Chairman Bright Future Academy invited the Pro-Rector to share his ideas and expertise to make the Academy among the leading educational institutes of Doha. He thanked him for visiting Doha and for sparing some of his precious time to address the students and faculty.
He also met with the Pakistan High Commissioner during a lunch hosted by the Pakistani community. The lunch was attended by a select galaxy of Pakistani professionals working in key positions in Doha. The event provided a good opportunity to promote UMT as a quality learning university for higher studies.
Dr Kausar’s visit attracted considerable media attention and he was interviewed by leading newspapers such as the Qatar Tribune, Gulf Times and The Peninsula. These newspapers represent all segments of the community including the government, people and business community of the country. During the interviews, Dr Kausar answered multifaceted questions and highlighted all the programs and facilities offered by the University.
Saudia Arabia
In Saudi Arabia, Dr Kausar made presentation at the Pakistan International School and Pakistan International A-Level School in Jeddah. In Medina Manuwara, he visited Dar ul Hijra International Pakistan School and Al-Aqeeq International Pakistan School. In Makkah Muazzma, he presented UMT at the Al-Eyman International Pakistan School.
Dr Kausar attended a reception hosted in his honor by the Chairman and members of the Pakistan National Circle, Jeddah. Addressing on the occasion, he traced the history of UMT and highlighted the milestones achieved so far. He also threw light on the future development plans and prospects of the University.
In view of the large number of participants desirous of pursuing their education at UMT, it was decided that UMT would open a regional campus in Jeddah to cater for the needs of Pakistani students, especially girls, who for one reason or another, cannot go beyond Jeddah. The forum also extended their services and full support for establishing a learning unit in Jeddah.
