International Conference on Textiles and Clothing 2011

Andreas Weber, World President, The Textile Institute, UK, chaired the first session of the International Conference on Textiles and Clothing (ICTC) 2011. The session was hosted by Abid Ganaie, The Textile Institute, Pakistan Chapter. Ongoing sessions of the Conference touched upon various themes ranging from challenges to Pakistan's value added industry to productivity and quality control issues.

The ICTC 2011 is the third conference of its kind that has been organized by UMT. The ICTC 2011 aims to project true value attached to technical textile as the major source of competition among textile players and promote smart textiles supported by modern technologies, equipments and innovative textile processing techniques through induction of specialized skills and high tech materials. The select experts and textile professionals will guide and encourage state institutions and concerned stakeholders to provide incentives and favorable environment for promotion of technical textiles. It will bridge the gap and further the level of interaction between industry and academia through joint ventures of research and development as well as resource mobilization in textile.
