2nd Supply Chain Professionals Conference

The event started with the recitation from holy Quran. Mr. Ijaz Yusuf then opened the event by highlighting the need of this event. Dr. Hasan Sohaib Murad, Rector UMT delivered the welcome speech and emphasized on the importance of the theme. The key note speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Shaukat Brah (former Rector KSBL) who explained the supply chain strategy for CPEC project. The event was sponsored by TCS Holdings, TAQ Logistics and CCL Pharma. The platinum sponsor was TCS Holdings and remaining two were gold sponsors of the event.
Mr. Yonus Siddiqui, Director Strategy, TCS delivered a very informative speech on CPEC project. He highlighted major challenges related to this project and which were also related to the field of logistics and supply chain. Mr. Ali Tariq, CEO from TAQ Logistics also gave his speech on the theme and highlighted the role of freight forwarding industry in the CPEC project. Mr. Kashif Sajjad, Senior Manager HR represented CCL Pharma.
Dr Haroon Rasheed Head of Marketing Department shared his vision on CPEC. Wang Zihai President of Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industries spoke on the CPEC and shared the business opportunities for two countries.
The purpose of the event was to provide numerous opportunities for supply chain professionals for
1- Getting to know each other and participate in networking to enhance their current business portfolios.
2- Achieving distinction alumni awards and certificates from Dept. of Operations and Supply Chain in honor of the outstanding progress they have shown in the industry they are working in.
3- Knowing latest activities that are happening in academic sector.
4- Developing strong bond of industry-academia collaboration.
